Starting Line
This week has been a big one, and our new episode reflects that. Following some great feedback from Rich Roll on last week’s podcast, we carried that momentum into this one! Not only that, but we had some serious professional (and life) changes this week - Aaron is wrapping things up at his corporate job to pursue content full-time. We dive into this and many other things in this week’s podcast.
One last thing before we kick off - the Second Nature Instagram is officially up and running. Stop by to smash that follow button, and stick around to leave us a comment (or DM) with some feedback, ideas, or anything else that you’d like to share!
Today’s Episode
Episode three was a fun one! You can check it out in the video above or listen to it on Apple or Spotify (or wherever else you listen to podcasts). Keep scrolling for a bit more detail - and links - about the stuff we talked about on this week’s pod.
If you’d like to read the original New York Times article about Reed Hastings and Powder Mountain, check it out here. This is the other article that we referenced in the discussion about the downturn of skiing.
Brand, Product, Content
Rabbit: The Dream Chaser
Dylan’s choice for BPC this week was the new shoes from Rabbit, an incredible apparel brand that is now getting into the shoe game. Hit this link if you want all the details for their first entry into the footwear market.
Live To Ride
Aaron’s first call for this week’s BPC was Peter Flax’s new book: Live To Ride. A great book that is sort of a cross between Barbarian Days and a beautiful coffee table book. The depth of information in here about the world of bikes was astounding, even to a hardcore bike rider. There’s a reason why this quickly climbed to #1 on Amazon for the Cycling category.
What Are You Watching
We went deep on Brand, Product, Content this week with an analogy around Jodorowski’s Dune and the state of the industry. This documentary is pretty wild, especially when you consider all the ways that it impacted popular culture, the movie industry, and everything else. 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, we would never steer you wrong.
Thank You!
Thank you for supporting Second Nature - we hope you are enjoying the podcast and newsletter as much as we are enjoying making it! If you like what we’re doing, would you mind sharing this newsletter (or the pod) with another person who might be pumped on it, too?
